Designed by Anna O’ Gorman Architecture and completed in 2017, Northshore Pavilion is a small public information and amenities building beside the Brisbane River.
It is a mature work of architecture that contributes to the established regional movement dedicated to timber sustainability.
Recovered wharf timber sections were dressed and re-used liberally.
Expressed and bolted portal frames provide a canopy under which two prefabricated pods sit.
They contain amenities and meeting room.
The pods define a generous deck overlooking the river.
Trellised outriggers anchored back to the garden invite creepers up to blur the boundary between structure and landscape.
Although a modest structure, the Northshore Pavilion is much used and appreciated by the local community.
