Designed by Tim Stewart Architects, Sefton House is a family home in an inner city Brisbane suburb.
The home makes use of a two story void to connect its inner spaces and allow light and breezes deep into the home.
A mix of materials the home responds to the traditional character of the area whilst adding a composition of contrasting materials to create the space and feel of a modern Queensland home.
The site slopes to the street.
The difficulty i Tim Stewart Architects faced in dealing with this was creating a private outdoor space that didn’t feel excessively sunken into the site at the rear.
A double height void ensured assess to light and views to the sky from the living spaces in the home.
The Tim Stewart Architects team carefully curated steps though the home which bridged the level difference from front to rear.
