Loftus Road

Loftus Road

Designed by architects X.PACE, the Loftus Road project is an apartment building situated in one of the steepest streets in Sydney.

The west-facing orientation presents the views of the water, the city, and Sydney Harbour Bridge.

To the north is a massive 1960’s apartment block which dominates the area.

The Loftus Road project comprises five apartments.

All of them have been oriented to the view or to the north for the sun.

The building was designed with two geometric elements.

The upper one contains three single-level, single-floor apartments.

The lower one comprises two x 2 storey dwellings, each enjoying both a view and access to the garden.

The two-building elements turn and twist to make the most of the orientation, views, and to neutralize the apartment block to the north.

The building is designed to be geometrically strong, but clean, elegant, and simple.

Despite the difficulties of the site, the X.PACE team has given each apartment a beautiful and smooth flow, balconies, gardens, parking, and most importantly views and sunlight.
