SG2 Design were commissioned to upgrade and improve where possible on the internal layout of an existing house located at Carlton in Melbourne.
Working within tight and restrictive spaces, with limited site access and a modest budget, the existing double-storey terrace house was completely refurbished to give new life to its ageing interiors.
SG2 Design devised a restricted materials palette of black and white porcelain tiles, light timber veneer cabinetry, black fixtures and fittings, and green highlights were introduced throughout the house.
Opening up the interior spaces drew in more light and created a larger sense of space. The predominantly white backdrop draws natural light into previously darkened spaces and provides a clean canvas for the collector’s bespoke furniture pieces and artwork.
