Studio Prineas’ client brief for their Longwood project called for the transformation of an eccentric 1960s Darling Point, Sydney apartment, with to-die-for views, into a haven of contemporary luxury.
So first up, the Studio Prineas team orchestrated a seamless visual transition between a disconnected entry, the main living areas, and an external balcony.
They did so using a skirting feature that effortlessly morphed from dark timber and steel joinery, to floor threshold, to wall paneling and external deck.
Then they added a finely crafted step-like platform that wrapped like a ribbon around the outer perimetre of the living area, connecting the interior living space with the outside deck and the captivating view beyond.
The balcony, once forlorn and shunned, is now experienced as an element within the room.
Moving through the space, there is clarity, simplicity, and a natural flow.
A rich palette of dark jewel colours, tactile surfaces, and sophisticated materials – including leather paneling, Calacutta viola marble, and dark timber – combine to provide luxurious, elegant support for the client’s art collection.
This transformed apartment is a sophisticated retreat of grown-up elegance — with a view to make your heart soar.
Rich, refined, and devastatingly luxurious.
