Lachlan Shepherd Architects designed alterations and additions to Moores House 2, an existing brick veneer residence on a rural site located in Bellbrae on Victoria’s Surf Coast.
Their brief was to provide a new main living/bedroom zone which linked into the existing built form.
That intervention would maximise the sprawling views and increase liveability.
The building was designed for robustness and minimal maintenance, drawing references from mid-century modernist principles.
Internally, the expressed steel structure is complemented by a moody, hard-wearing, tactile palette, which recedes against the surrounding landscape’s green, drawing one’s eye outward toward the view.
