Redcliffe Peninsula Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) is a family-friendly, all-inclusive club at Suttons Beach, Redcliffe.
Only 40km from the CBD, Redcliffe SLSC is the closest Surf Life Saving Club to Brisbane.
The Club welcomes members from across the Redcliffe Peninsula and the greater Brisbane metropolitan area.
Its popular and award-winning Junior Development Program grows a child’s confidence, knowledge, and skills in the beach environment.
The Club’s building was recently renovated and extended to double the available floor area.
The project was seeded with a Federal Government Community Volunteers Grant facilitated by Local Member Luke Howarth.
Club sponsors Enprocon and Compass Homes Qld worked to get the project finished in time for the 2020/21 season.
And local builder Matt Nouwens donated the labour and materials to complete the internal fitout.
The new, enlarged building provides additional storage space for essential gear and equipment for junior activities and lifesaving activities.
This includes space for a new Inflatable Rescue Boat and the Club’s Surf Rescue Vehicle.
The new building includes a state-of-the-art, air-conditioned training room with AV and other technology enabling classroom-based learning for Members.
The renovations incorporate a unisex, ambulant toilet facility with shower, extended female toilet facilities, and a revamped verandah area providing a comfortable seating area for Members and Guests of the canteen.
